Portfolio Simulation

Aid tools in making cross-organization decisions, ability to create scenarios for decision making for receiving new projects in terms of timetable, budget and investment. Option to compare and analyze various simulations comparing to the organization’s various strategic goals.

Evaluation of new ideas / requirements including allocation of priority grades received from the organization’s central decision makers,
a personally adjusted set of rating indexes which may be defined for each portfolio enabling decision makers to prioritize already existing ideas / projects in the organization.

Business Case

A business scenario may be based on an estimated length of time, resource requirements and specific criteria for your organization. An objective rating of new ideas may be defined by business priority, project strategy, risk and other rating criteria.

Capacity Planning

Real-time process management enables to compare new ideas versus active projects, present resources availability and decentralization over time, and display budget possibilities.

Investment Analysis

Evaluation of ongoing allocations and potential of financial assets followed by choosing the most suitable allocations for the organization’s needs and objectives.

Portfolio Control

Comparison between the portfolio’s goals and actual results and analysis by means of user-friendly graphs and control panels.

Project Management

Definition of projects on Sciforma 6.0 by planning, organization, product management, resources and costs to guarantee successful results.

Resource Management

Support of resource management based on functional, complex and matrix resource structures as well as soft allocations according to position, organizational area, classification of job or group of skills.

Risk Management

Change Request

Control, planning and management of requirement change requests. Includes simulation scenarios in order to compare duration of time, scope, costs and resource requirements based on the same change requests.

Budget Management

Supervising budgets and costs by comparing planned to actual costs, identification and management of changes.

Expense Management

Allows viewing and approving resource expenses. Follow-up of expense reports in real time.

Time tracking

In order to manage project resources in “real time” and time tracking,  you need to obtain a report on the tasks performed by the project managers and partners.
Sciforma allows creating report on the task or individually level by each of the partners in the project, including detailed time tracking report.
Each of the partners can enter the timesheet, track and review how many hours / days were invested on the various tasks associated with various projects. In addition to continuing to provide work estimates, mark availability holidays, notes and synchronize with the calendar.
If needed, the system can interface with the existing time tracking and reports systems in the organization.
Hybrid technology of Sciforma (Java 2EE & html 5 client) allows time tracking from any mobile Smart phones or Tablets to produce a situation where you can report at anytime from anywhere.
Team members update their work progress directly into Sciforma 6.0 in the course of the project. Sheets containing the timetables present all the assignments allocated to a specific team member in a number of projects. The team member feeds the actual and estimated number of hours left for each assignment.

Issues and Demand Management

Identification of a new idea or requirement for a project based on portfolio-unique criteria by means of a system built-in work flow.

Email Alert

The system prevents non-regular events by means of alerts and conditioned notices to users. The e-mail abilities include alerts and updates regarding projects, timetable follow-up, calendars, cost items, documents and other issues. Rich mails that can include text, project data content, images, and links that may be sent to user groups and individuals. When an e-mail alert is received, users can click Sciforma website address which will open the system and lead them directly to the relevant screen requiring attention.

Document Management

Follow-up of the history of loading and deleting document from the system. Users may create an unlimited number of fields to describe the document characteristics. Fields may be presented in the form that should be completed by users with suitable authorizations with the document being linked to a process chart and the access authorizations to it being directly linked to its status.

Every issue arisen which needs to be solved may be linked to a project or task, handling deadline and allocation of a team member assuring that the issue is under follow-up and handling. Users can easily get advice on issues relating to the project using the relevant reports.

Agile Software

Agile (also known as Scrum) is a software development methodology emphasizing change reaction capabilities, efficiency and quality.
Agile refers to collaboration and interaction between different departments at enterprise level and delivers the successful product with individual contribution. Agile methodology promotes adaptive planning, evolutionary development & delivery, and encourages rapid and flexible response to change in your project management.
The advantages of Agile methodology:

  • Indication of rapidly changing unexpected requirements.
  • Focus on skilled, self-motivated developers.
  • Real-time communication based task management.
  • Involving client in the process.
  • Concise, sufficient documentation for end-users.
  • Helps minimizing risks.

Sciforma 6.0 allows you:

  • Review backlog items.
  • Upload project documentation.
  • Plan short term actions.
  • Actually feed data and updated evaluations.
  • Review planning boards for Scrum meetings.
  • Update progress in real time
  • Review Scrum reports.

Critical Chain

A Critical Chain (also known as Theory of Constrains –TOC) methodology is essential for managing a large number of projects simultaneously. Critical Chain methodology can help you intelligently distribute your resources, budget and schedule defined for each project.

Portfolio projects management require shared resources and synchronization, creating dependencies between the different projects schedules. As a result, any disruption to the schedule of one project inevitably creates disruptions on other projects. This may lead to a destructive loop of disruptions of all projects up to a loss of control in managing schedules and resources of the portfolio.
Technology Sciforma has the ability to schedule projects by managing Buffers structured system, and taking a complex task and resource into account, while protecting the project finish date.

The advantages of the critical chain methodology are:

  • Closing projects according to or sooner than schedule.
  • Does not allow multi-tasking. Each task must be completed before moving on to the next task.
  • Lengths of tasks set based on safety margins are removed.
  • Synchronization of multi-project to multi-project resource planning.
  • Buffer management for protecting the critical chain and project’s completion date. With Sciforma 5.0, you can:
  • Create a reverse system from the constrained completion to the project’s start date.
  • Feed estimated time duration and safety margin duration for each task.
  • Remove resources which may affect the project planning.
  • Identify the critical chain in respect of tasks and resource dependencies.
  • Calculate buffers for the project to protect the critical chain and project’s forced completion.
  • Plan and Execute Multi-project management allowing resource synchronization such that meets those projects capabilities.
  • Manage Buffer and critical chain by means of Gantt presentation and control reports

Stage Gate

Phase Gate or Gate Phase is a horizontal methodology that is commonly used as project management tool. This methodology divides the project into stages or phases and each stage is separated by gates. These phases are performed one after the other according to a predefined order. Each phase has one main task and number of related activities and deliverables that need to done as a condition to continue to the next phase.
The Phase / Stage can also be used as project milestones.
Sage Gate methodology places great emphasis on collection and analysis of all project requirements before the project begins, and the main idea is that once you finish one phase movie to the next phase you do not go back to that phase.
Stage Gate greatest advantage is that project management can concentrate on completing each task independently at each phase .This phase separation allows schedules to be set and maintained. Using Sciforma Technology you can easily build multiple Templates of various phases that are suitable for your projects.
